The St. Croix Valley Home Builders Association (SCVHBA) is a professional not for profit trade organization chartered in 1979 and affiliated with the Wisconsin Builders Association (WBA) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). St. Croix Valley HBA represents the interests and concerns of the building industry - Builders and Associated Businesses - while promoting quality housing and positive relationships between members and the community we serve. The Association’s role is to provide educational programs, informational services, community involvement, governmental representation and social/networking opportunities.
The Board of Directors is the governing body of the Association, responsible for the ultimate direction of the management of activities of the organization. The Board is responsible for policymaking, while employees (and to a certain extent, officers) are responsible for executing the day-to-day management to implement board-made policy. The EO holds the responsibility to hire, train, supervise, coordinate, and terminate the professional staff of the Association, as well as holds the responsibility of staff and salary administration with guidelines established by the board. The committees are the Board’s workhorses for their vision. Directors monitor what committees do only to ensure they are working towards these goals.
Being a part of our membership provides you with the option of becoming a part of one of our committees. Our committees range from planning monthly meetings to planning our annual events as well as providing our board of directors with pertinent information about public policy and ideas for marketing and education. It is a great way to be further involved in the association and the communities we serve. BE the change you want to see!
